Statue Park

After the wedding on Saturday, our co-workers, Monika and Miss Yoo asked us if we'd like to go with them to the statue park near Miraksan, so we headed home to change our clothes and headed out of town.

We got lost. for a while. But it was fun! the ladies were apologetic and I told them I was having a great time! one of my favorite things to do is just go for a drive and that's something we don't get to do in South Korea. I spent lots of money on gas in my university days driving around Regina just trying to clear my head or pray. Now we relish being in a car which is usually Rachel's!



We made it to the park, eventually, and it was a great afternoon. We were so happy to be near a lake - something rare in Iksan! Took lots of pictures, ran into Semin's mom from the wedding who was having a picnic in the park with her friends, learned about the 'great love' of two dynasties who have a statue in the park, tried to think of names for the statues before we read the real names, craig imitated statues and we all laughed a whole lot!


There was another statue that was worthy of blogging, but you'll have to ask Craig about that one someday...
