Happy Thanksgiving!

We were happy to celebrate Thanksgiving on Sunday - or at least happy that we didn't cry! Don't know what it was this year that made us both just a little bit homesick...I actually blame Facebook. how depressing it was to read everyone's 'can't wait for turkey', 'my family is coming to visit', 'am over-stuffed from 2 turkey dinners in one day' - that made us a little bit gloomy.

But we survived and even made the best of it. Sunday after church we enjoyed cabbage rolls and perogies courtesy of our toaster oven - not the 'real' kind, but the 'lazy man' kind...tasted good anyway! of course, they will NEVER compared to Baba's!

Turkeys cost $70 in Korea, so we opted for roasted chickens. Rachel Husband made and saved us a cherry pie before she left Korea, so that was a real treat! We were thoughtful of last year as we hosted 20 foreigners at our house to a potluck meal with all the fixin's in Iksan. Almost every one of those friends have moved on from Korea.

We enjoyed our meal with....Americans! glad that Kate, Daniel, and Kaley could join us. That made it a lot more fun! Just tried not to think about family back home - especially as my partents, some cousins, and all my aunts and uncles were together with Baba in Winnipegosis. Did enjoy a phone call though.

Definitely thankful that our time in Korea is coming to an end. It's been an adventure, but we're ready to enjoy some family time again. Maybe next year we will host Thanksgiving - who knows?!

Even though we're envious, we do sincerely hope that your Thanksgiving was filled with family, friends, turkey, stuffing, gravy, and pumpkins! and of course lots of Love and Laughter!
