It MOVED me

This week I had to do a presentation lesson with my teacher. My supervisor, Mr.Lee, came from the board of Education to watch/evaluate. it was a joke, to say the least. cause it was called an 'open class' which means there's an invitation sent out to every school for any teacher to come and watch. They are to come and watch the new concept they have implimented this year - team teaching between foreigners and local teachers. so, my school and my teacher knows that everyone is coming to watch. We practiced the lesson 5 times with different classes before we presented it. it felt so scripted. i still have sentences running through my mind that i said over and over again. but we only practiced once with the class that was taught the presentation lesson.
The lesson went fine. Mr.Lee came, the principal of the school, about 8 teachers from other schools, and another 8 teachers from within the school came to watch. they were truly amazed at how eager the students were to answer the questions. Yeah. try showing up on a normal day when it's not planned. they would see a completely opposite situation.

After the lesson, the teachers and principal and Mr.Lee and I went to another room for a meeting. I was told I would have to quickly give my opinion of what a thought was positive and negative with my lesson - with much emphasis on the positive. It was a very formal meeting - not what I was expecting - and completely in Korea, which eliminates me from the conversations. We stood, pledged allegience to the Korean flag, then got started. Each teacher that watched the lesson stood and gave their opinions of good and bad parts of the lesson. I have no idea what anyone said. It was my turn and i gave my points and sat down.

Then Mr.Lee spoke. and he spoke in Korean. Except when he went gave my evaluation. it was in english. not just in english, but in perfect english. which i have never heard him speak in. which makes me think that his comments were almost scripted before he saw me teach. but he gave me some nice compliments.

then i had to contain my outburt of laughter.

he said, the video you showed was really wonderful. In fact, it moved me.

it moved him.

Just one of those times when someone uses a perfectly good english sentences and makes it into a hilarious situation for the foreigners.

How about you? Were you moved?
