Jesus Celebration-Russian style

Easter is very much over...but why we celebrate Easter is not. One of the dads in our church said that his 4 year old is confused about Easter - little Ben thinks it's about the Easter Bunny and all the candies he gets. Wonder how many other people, who are much older than 4, are confused about that same thing?
We found ourselves being 'evangelized to' by a group of girls on Easter morning. Our service had just finished and 4 elementary aged girls stopped by our church on their walk because the sign said we had 'Family Worship Time'. Craig and I met them, and I got to dust the cobwebs off the 'ol Russian yazek as they invited us to come to their service for Easter Monday. Cool. Somebody is having a celebration on the day of the Ressurection.

Check out the picture. Men on one side, women on the other with their heads covered. Everytime someone said "ee-SUS vos-KRES!" (Jesus has risen!) and we answer back "vai-EES-teh-noo vos-KRES!" (Risen INDEED!) while standing. Everyone prays at once. Paster Pasha was so passionate. Singing was awesome. Kids choir did amazing. The celebration was awesome...

And for the kids...there was some candies...at the end.

Still confused about Easter?
