Old Timers....

Celebrated 100 years in Coldstream this weekend! Craig and I helped out at the Ranch with kids games for the day - and a good thing we helped out! there were about 300 kids that came from 11:00-4:00 with Craig and 30 kids at one time playing games and Leah face painting for 5 hours straight with 8 kids in line at all times! what a day!

We had a Heritage Sunday at church. Tried to make things as authentic as possible, which means we pulled out hymn books! but they were only for show as the hymns were on a photocopied page. But the whole service was full of only hymns (which felt really good to sing again!) and old poems/readings from the early 1900s. We had some dress up old style, so we had to take some black and white pictures!

It was amazing to think back to our ancestors and how hard they worked to get us to where we are today. My Baba's family was dropped near Winnipegosis, Manitoba in the early 1900s, told they had 2 years to clear the land and get a crop or it would be taken away from them. Baba tells stories of living in neighbors shacks until their own was built.
I'm very thankful to Baba&Gido and their families who worked so hard for future generations. Love you guys!
