So, the past 2 weeks have flown by without a post - and the mom's are getting anxious! or maybe they're just curious and want to know what's going on in Asia as much as we want to remember what we did! so here we go...
2 weeks ago on Friday night, our Taekwondo Master decided we should have a going away party for Robin since she left on Saturday after completing her 1st contract here. What a great guy! she hadn't even been coming to taekwondo for 1 month and he wanted all of us to have a party - on him. So, 'Team Canada' who is Craig (founding/original member), me, Nicole, and Robin, plus 'inductee' South African friend/colleague Tracy all met at the gym with Master and 'Small Master' who is studying to be a Master. Headed across the street to the chicken joint owned by one of Master's student's parents. Lots of 's' in that sentence.
As the evening progressed, we learned that it was a double party - going away for Robin and a bday for one of his students. More and more people showed up and what we thought was going to be a party for 7, ended up doubled. SOOOO much fun! Some of the guys Craig knew from taedwondo training and we had met them at the Master's daughter's bday party so it was great to see them again!
there was so much chicken - spiced, not, sauced, fried - lots of chicken. and some anchovies. very salted with the eyes still in it. the Master asked if he should order some chicken feet for a 'snack' saying it's 'good for girls' skin. Colligen - good for skin. You can be beautiful!' Since none of us were too keen on eating it and we didn't want him to spend money on something we wouldn't eat, i politely declined. I told him i was already beautiful, so i didn't need to eat chicken feet. my skin is already beautiful - he thought that was so funny and ordered sauced chicken instead!there was 1 girl who was at the same level as the guys in taekwondo, but was teased fiercly that night - mostly by the Master.
Great way to send Robin off for 1 month! Looking forward to her being here again - cause she's a good friend and cause she has room in her suitcase for some 'yummies' from Canada for us!!
Craig said this was definitely one of th best times he's had in Korea - and yet his wife is bloggin this! hee hee
