2VM Camp

We had a great time out at Double VM Family Camp this week. It's in a beautiful mountainous setting near Cherryville, BC. Nearly 300 people camped out or visited the camp for a fun-filled week of activities. Being from the prairies and attending Clearview Christian Camp my whole life, our family camps were for 1 weekend, not a whole week!

The camp was celebrating its 40th anniversary and Allan Dunbar was the guest speaker. For those of you who have heard him, you already know what a great job he did. But it was a different experience for me as he spoke about our church movement celebrating 100 years. Different because he was talking about the 'differences' between the Acappella Church of Christ versus the Christian Church. Most of us know what some of these differences are, and Allan has something brief to say about it here.

The weird part was - this time I was on the other side of the 'differences'. For the first time in my life I am a part of a church who choses to put the word Christian in front of the word Church, instead of putting the word Christ after it.

Better? Worse? No. Just Different.
