Some Firsts!

November has brought some firsts for us here in South Korea.

!It snowed!

Melted by noon, but there was still white stuff around.

Daniel left us. He hopped on a plane and flew home to Dallas. Have you checked out the exchange rate lately of the Canadian or American dollar to the South Korean won? Really, very depressing. But more depressing for us is the fact that Daniel left. He's been a great friend since he first arrived in early April. We already miss him around here. He calls himself 'awesome'. and now the 'awesome'ness has left Korea...

We had our first turkey dinner of the year here. At church we had a dinner with mashed potatoes, stuffing, and veggies. we missed out on the gravy! the turkey is from Costco and costs $70 for an average sized bird!

Not really a first, but Craig has been working extra hard this month! the last couple of weeks he's been working all day and then teaching elementary school teachers from 6-9 in the evenings. 6 evenings at a very well priced pay will bring in some extra money! Go Craig!

We went to HomEver/Home Plus and we got to buy some cauliflower - the first time this year!

Today in the cafeteria the Korean teacher asked me 'Are you delicious?' My English-Korean teacher died laughing, told the Korean teacher what she had said, and everyone at the table was in hysterics. Maybe that's not a question I can answer?
We were planning a trip and needed to find our travel agents office. We were in Gaeksa by KEB bank (those details are for us) and got ahole of our travel agent. When we don't know where we are going, we usually grab a cab and call a Korean person to give directions to the taxi driver. Craig called Angela, the travel agent, and handed the phone to the cabbie. They seemed to talk forever - actually it was close to 5 minutes! it doesn't normally take that long. So we thought we were going across town. We drove for a block, turned the corner and that led to the City Hall, and stopped 3/4 down the block. the cab drive started yelling at us and pointing to the front seat. We had no idea what was going on! we hadn't even driven 2 blocks! but, we got out, deciding we would get another cab with a less crazy driver. Then he made Craig pay him 1,800 won (about $2) to take us around the corner. Craig called Angela, and she came running out of her office, 20 feet away from our cab. We hadn't felt that stupid or laughed that hard at ourselves in a long time during our time in Korea!

Just some goings-on of Korea that we didn't want to forget!
